About Us
We are a group of people from all over the globe who have come together to interpret the power and practice
of Integrative Community Therapy to English.
We are guided by a shared vision of a more deeply connected world. We believe ICT will bring us closer to achieving this vision.
Our Story
Ken and Alice are a father and daughter team from Pittsburgh, PA; one a seasoned community psychiatrist and the other a medical student, both with years of community organizing experience. We have always been intrigued by the intersection between community and mental health. Integrative Community Therapy, created in Brazil by psychiatrist Dr. Adalberto Barreto, caught our interest as we searched for different forms of treatment that could be used for the ever-increasing sense of loneliness and isolation that plagues our modern society. However, it was not until the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic that we were able to connect with and fully witness the power of this type of emotions-based community dialogue. With our newly-found passion and social isolation on the rise, we teamed up with Dr. Barreto and his group of expert trainers to bring Integrative Community Therapy to the English-speaking world.
Our Mission
To unleash the capacity for emotional healing that resides in our communities using methods that are inclusive, accessible and equitable.
