About the Role

Visible Hands Collaborative is a non-profit start-up seeking a project development consultant. The candidate will be a self-starter with experience in non-profit start-ups and program development, as well as a passion for public mental health and emotional wellbeing, community engagement, and social justice. This position will start briefly as a part-time consultant with potential for full-time work.

Duties:
-Work with program director to maintain a strong vision for the direction of the program
-Work with board and legal consultants to establish non-profit status
-Work with communications consultants to establish branding and messaging
-Establish and maintain community-based advisory boards and community partnerships
-Pro-actively partner with community organizations, community mental health providers and funders
-Work with program director to lead design and delivery of ICT facilitation services and training initiatives
-Provide leadership to ICT program staff to assure goals and objectives are met, and oversee quality assurance in facilitation and training
-Develop programming for facilitators and trainers to refresh skills and maintain ICT network
-Manage budgets, approve expenditures and reconcile employee expense and travel expenses
-Oversee process of ICT handbook translation from Portuguese to English
-Develop social network and social media outreach strategies
-Identify and pursue new funding sources
-Find and work with partners to evaluate and research the method
-Additional responsibilities to pursue strategic goals as they arise

Compensation:
Hourly compensation at $33/hr for 20 hours per week. This role will likely last through May 2022.
We are unable to offer benefits for temporary work. The candidate will become eligible if they become full-time staff.

Requirements

  • Degree in public mental health, social work or other health related discipline

  • Demonstrated program management and supervisory experience

  • Demonstrated understanding of group therapy

  • Demonstrated experience working with communities and knowledge of related resources

  • Must be willing to travel

Visible Hands Collaborative’s mission is to develop an institute of training and facilitation in the Integrative Community Therapy method. This is a form of guided large group dialogue for communities to enhance social networks, address emotional challenges, share resources, and develop emotional solidarity. Our vision is to train and support ICT facilitators nationwide to grow and nurture sustainable community support for historically marginalized and traumatized groups with significant barriers to mental healthcare.
